position objective's

This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Human Resources department. This position will mainly be responsible for maintaining and updating a variety of personnel information.  This position will also ensure DOT, Safety and OSHA Compliance, as well as overseeing Worker’s Compensation.

Human Resource Systems​

  • Helps maintain various Human Resource databases.

  • Keeps employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in a timely manner.

  • Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.

  • Helps manage the development and maintenance of the Human Resources sections of both the internet, particularly recruiting, culture, and Company information; and Intranet site.

Organization Development

  • Assists the VP HR in designing and implementing a Company-wide process of organization development that addresses issues such as succession planning, superior workforce development, key employee retention, organization design, and change management.

  • Documents and summarizes employee communication and feedback through such avenues as Company meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, newsletters, employee focus groups, one-on-one meetings, and Intranet use.

  • Participates in the development and implementation of Company-wide committees including the wellness, training, environmental health and safety, activity, and culture and communications committees.

 

Staffing

  • Performs recruiting duties as assigned by the VP HR.  Manages the logistics of the recruiting process.

  • Assists the VP HR with advertising job openings internally and externally in keeping with company recruitment policies.

  • Posts ads on the Internet in places appropriate to the open position including job boards, college career services offices, professional associations, and on the company's Web site.

  • Sorts and reviews resumes as they arrive on a daily basis. Manages the flow of paper applications and manages the recruiting email box. Provides a first review of resumes. Maintains a filing system that retains qualified applications for one year.

  • Schedules and conducts interviews as needed with candidates.

  • Responsible for tracking all pre-employment testing by each candidate as required, including background checks, pre-employment drug screens, pre-employment physicals, as required by 7G Distributing, LLC and the VP HR.

  • Responsible for assisting with complete and effective employee orientation and on-boarding.

  • Assists other departments with temporary staffing needs by contacting and working with the Temporary Staffing Agency. 

  • Track and maintain employee turnover spreadsheet monthly

  • Track and maintain DOT compliance for all CDL holders

  • With the assistance of 7G’s insurance company, track and maintain all safety compliance documentation including OHSHA required documentation.

 Training​

  • Schedules participants into training sessions.

  • Tracks participants and training records.

  • Enters training records into database and maintains it.

 

Employee Relations

  • Ensures that employee matters are handled appropriately in order to limit liability exposure for the Company.  Also helping to ensure that all employee interactions are within the parameters of Company policies and guidelines and within the limits of local, state, and federal laws.

  • Assists in the development and implementation of an employee handbook and new personnel policies and procedures.

  • Assists with filing all compliance reports with the state and federal government.

  • Assists with the implementation and tracking of company safety and health programs.
